Prince Memorial

Prince memorial is an idea to tribute Prince in the shape of his famous Love Symbol. The memorial reacts to rain, becoming purple when it rains and yellow when the rain dries out.

We use Hydrochromic paint, so when it rains, the paint reacts to the water, turning the yellow paint purple and thus, creating the illusion that the rain is purple.

When the rain stops, the memorial dries out and returns to its original yellow color.

The purple rain illusion is emphasized further at night when the memorial's lights also react to the rain. When it's dry outside, the lights shine yellow; when it starts to rain, the transmitted light shines purple before falling back to yellow once the rain has stopped.

The sculpture is a tribute to Prince himself and creates something that we can finally enjoy when it rains.
